Performance

One thing that makes the 2011 Honda CR-V unique is that it has a single available engine. Indeed, this crossover features a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that gets 180 horsepower and 161 pound-feet of torque. There is also only one transmission, a five-speed automatic, available. The transmission and the engine are of superior quality. Base models come standard with front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is available. Steering and handling are quite good, and drivers will always feel in control behind the wheel of this crossover. Fuel economy is exceptional too. Front-wheel-drive models get a fuel economy rating of 21 mpg in the city, 28 mpg on the freeway and 24 mpg combined. All-wheel-drive models get a rating of 21/27/23 mpg.

Trim Levels

In terms of trim levels, the 2011 Honda CR-V covers a broad spectrum. There are five trims available. The base LX features keyless entry, air conditioning, full power accessories, 17-inch steel wheels, cruise control, sliding and reclining rear seats, a four-speaker sound system with a CD player and a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel. Upgrading to the SE adds rear privacy glass, alloy wheels and a sound system with a CD changer. The EX adds steering-wheel audio controls, a sunroof and a dual-level cargo area. The premium EX-L adds dual-zone automatic climate control, heated mirrors, automatic headlights, leather upholstery, heated front seats and several other perks.

Interior Design

The interior of the 2011 Honda CR-V is spacious and comfortable. In addition to that, it abounds with quality materials and refined craftsmanship. Controls and gauges are easy to access and intuitive to use. At 35.7 cubic feet, cargo capacity is quite good. The back seats fold and tumble forward, and the split-level divider can be removed. With that configuration, cargo capacity climbs to 73 cubic feet, which is more than sufficient for most people.

The 2011 Honda CR-V excels as a family crossover. It includes several cup holders, cubbies and other storage spaces, which make it suitable for long road trips. It also features a premium interior, exceptional roominess, a stylish design and a very reasonable price tag. The CR-V has earned impressive crash test scores and features great fuel economy too, even on all-wheel-drive models. Nice touches like a conversation mirror and the split-level cargo area make the CR-V stand out from other cars in its class. Discerning car buyers are sure to be pleased with what the CR-V has to offer.
