2012 Honda Fit

The Fit features a versatile, configurable interior and can easily seat up to five passengers. The 2012 Fit retains the popular car’s affordability and quick handling while adding some attractive and practical touches inside and out.

On the exterior, the 2012 Fit Sport is outfitted with new bumper styling and a new front grille in addition to a dark finish on its alloy wheels. The base Fit gets new wheel covers and body-colored side mirrors. Inside, the 2012 Fit Sport changes it up with dark, metallic dashboard trim and instruments accented with chrome. On top of this, the Sport shows off with new seat fabric and steering-wheel audio controls. The base model and the Sport have a newly-designed console with updates to the cup holders and ambient lighting system, along with a welcome increase in sound-deadening material.

The base of the windshield has been moved forward on both models in 2012, and this, along with a new, sail-shaped window incorporated into each A-pillar, offers impressive improvements in visibility. These changes in geometry, along with Fit’s already spacious interior, make for a surprisingly non-cramped and comfortable ride for such a small car. The Fit’s rear backrests and cushions can be manipulated to create a large, vertical space for tall items, and all models also have a 60-40-split folding rear seat. Cruise control and a CD stereo with a USB port and an MP3 jack are both standard, and optional items include a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a navigational system.

Under the 2012 Fit’s hood, a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine provides 106 pounds-feet of torque and 117 horsepower. The Fit comes with a standard, five-speed transmission, but those who don’t like driving stick can choose the optional, five-speed automatic transmission.
